This award recognises outstanding cooperation across different organisations. The organisations may have collaborated to prevent, deter, detect, investigate or prosecute frauds. Private sector organisations and charities can be nominated for this award but only in conjunction with a public sector organisation.

Nominees will be judged on:

• how the collective working approach was developed;
• how team members worked to overcome any barriers or difficulties;
• evidence of a cooperative working approach, and the delivery and achievement of joint goals and objectives;
• evidence of savings achieved by working together;
• potential for other organisations to adopt a similar approach and achieve savings; and
• how success was measured and the benefits realised.

The organisations may have collaborated to prevent, deter, detect, investigate or prosecute frauds. Private sector organisations and charities can be nominated for this award but only in conjunction with the UK-based public sector organisation(s).

• how team members worked to overcome any barriers or difficulties;
• evidence of a cooperative working approach, and the delivery and achievement of joint goals and objectives;

This award recognises an individual or team who has shown exceptional creativity and originality in developing a new approach to sanctions or redress applicable to criminal, civil or regulatory regimes.

Nominees will be judged on:

• innovative approach demonstrated in the solution/policy change;
• the potential for other organisations to adopt a similar approach; and
• the impact of the new approach on the organisation (financial or other).

This award recognises an individual or team who has undertaken outstanding, innovative activity to prevent losses from fraud. Demonstrating expertise and leadership, the approach could include the use of policies, processes, data-sharing, joint working or communications.

Nominees will be judged on:

• the effectiveness of the approach and how this was measured;
• the benefits realised by the organisation, which could include financial savings, increased efficiency, boosting the money available for services, reputational enhancement;
• the innovative nature of the approach;
• the sustainability of the approach and potential for others to adopt it;
• how stakeholders were engaged and brought on board; and
• the approach’s influence as a deterrent or in disrupting further fraud attempts.

This award recognises an individual or team that has delivered a fraud awareness programme in a fresh, innovative way.

Nominees will be judged on:

• the impact of the programme on the organisation and how this was measured;
• how the audience was identified and approached, and their level of engagement;
• how the programme contributed to the detection or prevention of fraud in the public sector;
• the extent to which the programme fulfilled the counter fraud objectives of the organisation;
• the sustainable nature of the programme and potential for other organisations or counter fraud individuals to adopt the programme; and
• the creative use and effectiveness of the communication channels selected (these could include but are not limited to TV, social media, direct mail, advocacy etc.).

This award recognises an individual or team who has devised and conducted an exceptional proactive fraud detection initiative. Examples might include a fraud loss measurement or random sampling exercise, or a data matching piece.

Nominees will be judged on:

• how the initiative was developed and implemented , including engagement with the organisation to secure buy-in;
• use of risk assessment to thoroughly assess fraud risks and how these fraud risks were considered and pursued;
• innovative uses of data;
• impact of the initiative and the tangible difference it made (for example, to detection rate and recovery of funds, control changes leading to future preventative savings); and
• how well the initiative’s methodology could be adopted in other organisations as an example of best practice.

This award recognises a team (two or more people) that has demonstrated outstanding expertise and commitment to counter fraud work, achieving an outcome beneficial to the counter fraud function as a whole. This could be through direct implementation of innovative and sustainable counter fraud initiatives, or through the demonstration of best practice.

Nominees will be judged on:

• the effectiveness of the relevant counter fraud work and how this is measured;
• how the organisation and wider function have benefitted from their leadership and work;
• the sustainability of the approach and potential for others to adopt it;
• how they have successfully engaged with internal and external stakeholders; and
• use of counter fraud knowledge to make a significant contribution to the counter fraud function through sharing of best practice.

This award recognises an individual or team who has gone above and beyond in their contribution to the development of the Government Counter Fraud Profession (GCFP) for HMG. In doing so the person or team has encouraged others to get involved, demonstrated collaborative and leadership skills, and helped to achieve the aims of the GCFP: community, empowerment and recognition.

Nominees will be judged on:

• their awareness of the common aims of the GCFP: community, empowerment and recognition;
• their contribution to support a specific product area or outcome for the GCFP;
• how the GCFP and wider counter fraud function has benefitted from their leadership and work;
• their demonstration of effective leadership and collaboration in promoting the benefits of the GCFP;
• their clear passion and enthusiasm for collaborating on the development the GCFP.
